24/7 Support

A large manufacturing plant needed support for five locations.  These locations were in Kentucky and North Carolina.  The company needed quick response time for any issues that may arise.  Down time meant down productivity.  The companies concerns were the proprietary software they used and response time.  We proposed a process of knowledge transfer and a trail run.  We provided the following services for this customer:

  • System support process
  • Configuration and staging of remote support process
  • Project Management
  • Deployment Services

The Solution:We deployed a timely onsite support solution for the different locations throughout the Kentucky and North Carolina.  Each one was uniquely configured and support delivered within an expected delivery time. Project Management ensured that all deliveries were made according to schedule and support request were made via the correct channels.  Without that critical control, even one slip-up could have negatively impacted the companys productivity, consumed additional resources, and cut into total productivity.

Auto Reporting for FDA

A national food manufactory plant decided that they needed to replace the current reporting process for information that need delivered to the FDA to save money on fees.  The company also wanted to stop production in case of an issue with the machines such as temperature. We proposed a solution to procure the information using Allen-Bradley/Rockwell Automation Solutions.

  • System recommendation
  • Configuration and staging of the PLC communication
  • Order management
  • Project Management
  • Deployment Services

The Solution:We deployed a Visual Basic program to interact with RSLinks to produce the information that was needed.  Reports were auto generated and printed daily to be set to FDA.  Each machine was set to monitor temperature, volume, problems.  Project Management ensured that all development was made according to schedule. Without that critical control, even one slip-up could have negatively impacted the schedule for the entire project, consumed additional resources, and cut into total productivity.

Project Value $35,000

Business Impact:

  • Greater accuracy and management of information.
  • Freedom to focus on other corporate initiatives while maintaining confidence that deployment was proceeding according to plan.

Back Office PC for National Dairy Company

A national dairy chain decided that they needed a process to replace all the PC's in its remote sites in order to manage the devices they were deploying more effectively.  The company also wanted a solution to better track truck routes and deliveries.  It appeared to be pretty simple to the customer, but in reality, deploying across several states and several sites was a formidable task considering that the duration of the project was to be over a three-month period and computer models change more rapidly than that. We proposed a solution to procure the PCs, printers, configure each with specific software and hardware.  We provided the following services for this customer:

  • System recommendation
  • Configuration and staging of the PC
  • Order management
  • Project Management
  • Deployment Services

The Solution:We deployed Imagistic Multifunction Printers to scan the Truck route/deliveries to Email for a short term solution.  We implemented high speed internet and routers setting up Firewalls and VPNs for corporate remote access.  On-going onsite technical support for the remote sites gives the Company insurance that they will have the continuing support to continue success with productivity.  Project Management ensured that all deliveries were made according to schedule.  Without that critical control, even one slip-up could have negatively impacted the schedule for the entire project, consumed additional resources, and cut into total productivity.

Project Value $83,000

Business Impact:

  • Greater control of management over remote locations.
  • Less data processing time for truck routes.

Freedom to focus on other corporate initiatives while maintaining confidence that deployment was proceeding according to plan.

Inventory Management

An International going company was looking for a solution to manage the remote warehouses? inventory and automate re-order process for all warehouses across the US and UK.  They also wanted to have redundancy in case of a network outage.  They wanted a layout of all remote sites for ease of trouble shooting system issues.  We provided the following services for this customer:

  • System recommendations
  • Configuration and staging of the PCs, Servers, Databases, PDAs
  • Software Development
  • Data migration
  • Router configuration services
  • Order management
  • Deployment Services
  • Project Management
  • Data migration
  • Professional Service Installation
  • Post Support

The Solution: We developed a process for the company to track products from the time that left the manufacturing plant.  Using Scanners to scan the product into the customized software that was developed using Oracle Database.  Once the Item was Scanned and set for delivery it was then scanned once it arrived at the warehouse.  Scanned again once it left the warehouse and site via PDA by the customer once delivered.  The product was then set to be reorder by the customized software.  In order to have redundancy at each warehouse we supplied multiple access points connecting to a VPN-router.  With the low bandwidth requirements we implement DSL/CABLE with a dial backup indicator/responder solution via ISDN or dialup.

Project Value $209,000

Business Impact:

  • Greater ability to communicate between locations.
  • Faster and more reliable exchange of data.
  • Better Order Management

More scalable architecture for future growth.

PC-PLC Automation

A large auto part manufacturing plant needed a company with experience with writing programs to interact with the PCL interfaces for easier process.  The company was also interested in having accurate data.  The company wanted to find a way to communicate with its manager more effectively.  Its managers were not receiving the latest information in a timely manner and, therefore, either were not being competitive. The proposal was accepted and a continuing success. We provided the following services for this customer:

  • Data Highway Design Services
  • Provided professional consulting service to help them choose solutions for Client/Server/Mainframe interaction.
  • Order management including shipping with programming of Intermec Scanners.
  • Client Application configuration services
  • Project Management
  • Deployment Services
  • On-going support Services Support Services

The Solution:We deployed solutions for better processing.

Project Value $175,000

Business Impact:

  • Scalable architecture that permits expansion and less downtime
  • Can easily add new machines as the operation grows.
  • Secure storage and backup for critical data.
  • Greater control of management of documentation.

Remote Location Expansion

A large company was expanding a remote location.  They needed to understand their current Data Highway layout.  They were having issues with machines dropping with bad information packets.  The company had worked on the issue for weeks without a resolution.  They also needed new cables ran and old cables that would remain tested.  We provided the following services for this customer:

  • Configuration and staging of the PC?s and Machine move
  • Configuration and staging of the switches, routers, PLC gateways.
  • Order management
  • Project Management
  • Professional Service Installation
  • Post Support

The Solution:We mapped out all cables numbering each cable.  We then identified each machine with the node number for corporate to identify each machine with ease.  After identify each node and cable we were able to narrow down the problem area from thirty machines to five.  All cables tested successfully and we began the process of elimination by bypassing each of the five to trace it to a PLC Panel.  We then ran new cables for moved Machine and used Fiber cable for Building to Building Connectivity.

Project Value $8,900

Business Impact:

  • Greater ability to communicate between locations.
  • Faster and more reliable exchange of data.

More scalable architecture for future growth.
